they still got it

Some of the veteran (7+ years old) Tollers did a fun retrieve during the lunch hour of the working certificate testing on the Saturday of our trip to Calgary for the Toller Specialty.

A new friend, Jane, ran her Toller, Sara.

Our breeder, Alison, ran Betsy (Sunny and Taylor's paternal grandmother that I've mentioned before). Betsy just turned 12--I think she was the oldest veteran out there!

Alison was concerned that Betsy couldn't see very far and might not be able to spot the ducks being thrown. (She had thrown a few bumpers for her at home, but nothing far.)

But Betsy did just fine.

(Can you spot the bird in the photo below? Upper right corner! And look at Betsy's ears--she knows exactly what is going on!)

Field-53

She's OFF!

Field-54

And she got it!

Field-55

Alison made sure that Betsy knew where to go with the bird... she waved her arms in the air, calling "over here, Betsy!"

I don't think there was a dry eye in the field watching these two work together.

  1. I just read up on this breed. Very interesting. We have two canines also although our Cairns are a bit smaller.
