Nature is Gross

While out exploring the Guillemot Cove Nature Reserve we spotted this huge glop of goo:

Also known as a Lions Mane jellyfish.

We saw a handful of them on the beach, but the others were maybe the size of my foot or smaller, whereas this one was significantly larger.

It was still alive... we kept hoping that the tide would hurry up so it might have survived. (It was a warm day!) I've never seen a jellyfish that big before (outside of an aquarium)--it was impressive!

I never know what to expect when I walk the beaches around here... love it!
