Friday I had some friends from high school over at my place... a mini-reunion of sorts. It was so nice to see everyone that was able to make it, but also kind of weird because we are all quasi-adults now. References to The Office were made, people were given a bad time, people caught up with other people they hadn't seen since graduation, a baby was passed around, good food was had, lots of laughs... just like old times! (kinda...) The last few people left around 130am or 200am ish, and Liz and I didn't get to bed until 230ish. It was a long night, but more than worth it!
Oh and I made peanut sauce and chicken for swimming rama the night before. (I didn't finish cooking until after 10pm...) It turned out so well! This is the recipe I used if you're interested. And I got to use my Crock-Pot for the first time to keep the sauce warm!
Saturday I got up, cleaned up the house and did most of my dishes before my mom, aunt + uncle, cousin, and their friend showed up to take away my broken TV and bring me the TV that my uncle was going to give me. My family takes care of me... it's so awesome. My cousin, Scott, was up for the weekend from CA so "got" to help move the TV. Then we went to my uncle's rental so I could see some of their other extra furniture... so now I am getting an entire living room set from them! I am so excited! Couch + loveseat + coffee table + end tables... I think that's it. (I already have a loveseat that I may get rid of... it's super comfy if anyone knows of anyone in the area looking for an inexpensive loveseat!)
That afternoon the fam went up to Quilcene for another cousin's surprise birthday party. More good times were had.
THEN that night I drove up to Kingston to pick up JP around 1030pm from the ferry. Once we got back to my place, I fixed something to eat while he swept my house of pine needles (so many needles!!) and washed the rest of my dishes. He is such an awesome friend.
The next morning, he made pancakes while I got ready. Then we made our way out to the wedding site and started snapping pictures (after picking up another camera from Jessica B-- thanks again!). Jessica C and Melvin are such a wonderful couple... and their kids are ridiculously cute. Seriously. Granted, I love kids and they all make me smile, but these kids were adorable and well behaved considering what was expected of them. (Smiling, standing still, etc.) I hadn't met Melvin before yesterday, and he is a super nice guy. I am so glad that JP and I were able to take their wedding pictures!
Unfortunately, my computer is dead... which makes it difficult to edit/process pictures. JP, again being the wonderful friend that he is, offered to edit all of the pictures up in Bellingham and put them on cds. He's a life saver.
Thankfully I have Tuesday off for Veteran's Day, so hopefully I'll be able to rest up and recover then. I hope. Right now I have that exhaustion-induced-not-quite-soreness thing going on in the back of my throat. Yuck.
Overall, this weekend made me love my family and my friends and have an even greater appreciation for them than I did before... if that is even possible.
Here's a sneak-peak at some of the pictures we got that JP has edited already:

I am really looking forward to doing family portraits with them as the holidays get closer! (And to take baby pics next weekend for another friend!!)
The photos turned out excellent!
